‘Why not dream’… Luciano Becchio tells Leeds United fans he’s travelling to Elland Road today — Leeds United News 4/5/24

Luciano Becchio is travelling to Yorkshire today to watch
Leeds United as Daniel Farke’s side take on Southampton at Elland Road, telling
fans to “dream”.
It is judgement day in the Championship as the final weekend
of a 46-game season is upon us. Leeds welcome fourth-placed Southampton to
Elland Road in what could be a rehearsal for the play-off final.
Farke’s men need to beat Russell Martin’s out-of-form Saints
who have lost three league games in a row in order to finish second. Then, they
need Huddersfield to beat Ipswich at Portman Road in a shock result.
It comes after Leeds were battered 4-0 by QPR last week,
handing the impetus to Ipswich in the race for second place. Beating
Southampton is conceivable, but for Huddersfield to stun Ipswich is very
unlikely.
Simon Jordan doesn’t think Leeds have any chance of a win
but Luciano Becchio is much more positive. So much so, that the Argentine is
travelling to Elland Road with plenty of optimism of a potential win.
He took to Instagram to show fans he is on his way to Leeds
Bradford airport ahead of today’s game.
Ben Parker still thinks Leeds have a chance and predicted a
3-0 win while Farke was very optimistic in his press conference on Thursday,
given the parameters that need to be in place for Leeds to finish second.
Today’s game is crucial not just because there is a
possibility of automatic promotion if things go Leeds’ way, but because it
gives The Whites confidence going into the play-offs against a possible
opponent.
Becchio posted a picture on his Instagram story to show he
was travelling to Leeds Bradford airport, alongside the caption “Why not dream
today? I can’t wait to be home today”.
If there is any chance Leeds can pull off a miracle today,
then The Whites need to get a goal early on to go ahead and pile the pressure
on Ipswich while hoping that The Tractor Boys do not take the lead.
It is crucial that out of the two games that Leeds strike
first and set the ball rolling. Realistically, it will only be a matter of time
before they take the lead over Huddersfield but Leeds can do something about
that.
Netting first will make Ipswich look over their shoulders
and perhaps encourage a little bit of a nervy atmosphere at Portman Road. Leeds
icon Becchio will be there to watch from the Elland Road stands.
