Fulham complete loan move for Leeds United winger Dan James - The Athletic 1/9/22

Fulham have completed the signing of Dan James on a season-long loan from Leeds United.

The Wales international generated interest from a number of clubs but a move to Craven Cottage was his preference before the deadline.

Leeds said: “Everyone at Leeds United would like to thank Dan for his efforts during a challenging campaign last season and for his contribution in keeping the club in the Premier League.

“We wish Dan good luck during his time at Craven Cottage.”

James, who joined Leeds last year from Manchester United, has fallen down the pecking order at Elland Road following the summer arrivals of Luis Sinisterra and Brenden Aaronson.

The 24-year-old has scored four goals in 40 competitive appearances for Leeds. He will also play for his nation at this winter’s World Cup.

Leeds had a move for Marseille forward Bamba Dieng fall through on Thursday in dramatic fashion after he chose a transfer to OGC Nice over the Premier League side.

Leeds had agreed a deal worth €10million with Marseille earlier on Thursday and he was expected to travel to the United Kingdom ahead of signing a deal.

However, Nice made a move for the forward as Dieng was sat at a private jet terminal. However, that deal is up in the air on the back of his medical.
