Report: Club shares strict ruling on Leeds United’s attempt to steal star talent - Leeds All Over 28/7/22

Birmingham City are not willing to sell young midfielder
George Hall for any price as Leeds United remain interested.
The Whites have already managed two teenage signings to
strengthen the emerging group coming into the senior fold in the coming years,
with Darko Gyabi and Sonny Perkins joining from Manchester City and West Ham
respectively.
More is needed for newly-appointed under-21s head coach
Michael Skubala, as the side takes to the PL2 Division 2 once more after
relegation last term.
Alongside Perkins, Leeds also had their eyes set on
Birmingham City midfielder George Hall, per The Athletic.
The recently-turned 18-year-old is likely to be a key part
of the plans at St Andrews this season and beyond, with the club boasting a
handful of very talented youngsters at the moment.
While Leeds would be keen to bring in the teen who
registered four goal involvements at PL2 level last term, Birmingham Live are
reporting that the Blues are not interested in entertaining his departure:
“Leeds are known to be interested in the 18-year-old but
Blues are adamant they will rebuff any interest in a young man who could be the
next cab off an increasingly productive midfield rank.”
Hall was left out of Birmingham’s most recent pre-season
outing against Rayo Vallecano after picking up an injury against Burton Albion.
It’s all well and good standing firm when you have such a
good crop of players coming through as Birmingham do, but the financial
difficulty of simply being an EFL club does make things tougher for them.
Hall would be far more likely to get regular starts by
staying with the Blues, but the chance at Premier League football with us might
be something he considers.
If he is weighing this move up, he will see the rise of Joe
Gelhardt as a prime example of how Leeds’ system is successful.
It might be a case of waiting to see if Birmingham budge
when money is put down for him, because they might well need it.
