Young lion: Leeds star Mowatt wins England cap

TALENTED Leeds United midfielder Alex Mowatt has been named in Noel Blake’s 17-man squad for England U19s’ friendly clash with Turkey next week.
The Young Lions face the Turks on Wednesday, March 5, with a 7pm kick-off time at the Swansway Chester Stadium, home of Conference Premier side Chester FC.
Doncaster-born Mowatt, who turned 19 earlier this month, was called up by ex-United centre-half Blake, who coaches England U17s, for the autumnal game against Hungary in November, but had to pull out through a groin injury.
The schemer, who has enjoyed a hugely impressive breakthrough season at Leeds since making his debut against hometown club Doncaster in a Capital One Cup clash in August, is now hoping for a case of second time lucky as he aims to make his U19s bow.
The game is part of England’s preparation for the elite round of the UEFA U19 European Championship qualifying section - which the Three Lions host in May.
Southampton’s Calum Chambers is expected to captain the side next week.
