Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is in talks over a loan move to Leeds United.
The Brazilian, who turned 33 last week, is third choice at Tottenham and keen to play with a chance of making his country's World Cup squad at stake.
In 2011, Tottenham signed Brad Friedel and Gomes was dropped to the bench. Gomes slipped further down the pecking order when France international Hugo Lloris arrived from Lyon a year later.
Having moved to White Hart Lane from PSV Eindhoven in 2008 for a fee of £7.8 million, Gomes spent the second half of last season on loan at German club Hoffenheim.
However, having gained the captain's armband at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena, Gomes' season was cut short when he broke his hand with a month of the campaign still to go.
Leeds held talks with Stoke City over a loan move for Jack Butland on Monday but manager Brian McDermott has now switched sights to Gomes and hopes to agree a deal.
