Hunt in pledge to fans

Noel Hunt says he will take criticism “on the chin” after voicing disappointment with the start of his career at Leeds United.
The Republic of Ireland international held his hands up to a run of poor performances last month but insisted he would find his feet at Elland Road after a summer move from Reading.
Hunt came to Leeds on a free transfer in July, re-uniting himself with manager Brian McDermott who he played under at the Madejski Stadium.
McDermott is a big admirer of Hunt and told the Yorkshire Evening Post yesterday that the forward was “probably down on himself too much”, despite admitting that Hunt “didn’t do himself any justice” in the early weeks of the Championship term.
Hunt, who is yet to score his first competitive goal for Leeds, used Twitter to express his frustration after a 1-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers on August 31, and he said: “For me personally the QPR game wasn’t good enough.
“I want things to be right on the day but it hasn’t been, I’ll be the first to admit that. All I can do is work hard and make sure I get it right for the future.
“You’ve got to keep the faith. People are going to have a go and that’s fair enough but you’ve got to be a man, take it on the chin and make sure that you’re better next time.
“I’m here to improve and be better and to play for the shirt.
“That’s the main thing.”
United’s narrow loss to QPR was their first defeat of the season and Hunt said: “Up to that game we were reasonably happy as we were unbeaten.
“We’d have taken the eight points from 12 going into that game. But it was a tough performance to accept and as a team we won’t accept it.”
