Has Leeds United target played his last game for SK Brann?
Yorkshire Post 16/7/12
LEEDS UNITED midfield target Rodolph Austin has admitted he could have played his last game for SK Brann - after speaking with reporters after playing for the club on Sunday.
The Jamaican international scored a long-range strike in a 6-2 win over Odd Grenland and following the final whistle, commented: “I am 27 years now, and I think the timing is right. But it is between the clubs. If I can go to Leeds, that’s something I would like.
“I dont know if this was my last game here, but if it was then it was a perfect way to finish”.
United’s initial offer of around £200,000 is understood to have been rejected by Brann, but they are expected to come back in with an improved bid.
Meanwhile, United, Derby County and Cardiff City are in the hunt to sign Coventry City defender Richard Keogh, who failed to appear for the Sky Blues in Saturday’s friendly against Hinckley United.
The 25-year-old is not expected to travel with his Coventry team-mates who headed off to Scotland for a pre-season tour today.
Fellow United targets Luke Varney and David Norris have stayed behind the UK to resolve their futures, while their Portsmouth team-mates have flown out to Malaga for a pre-season training camp.
