Second Healy bid rejected
by James Pearson - Last Updated 16 Oct 2004
Leeds United have seen a second bid rejected for Preston North End's Northern Ireland striker David Healy.
The Whites offered £100,000 for the former Manchester United ace on Thursday, but that bid was swiftly gunned down.
Leeds have now doubled their original offer to £200,000, however once again Preston are not interested.
"This is totally unacceptable," said chairman Derek Shaw to the club's official website.
"Leeds came back in with an improved offer but again it is nowhere near a figure we would even consider."
Leeds may opt to use some of the £500,000 they can expect to receive once Robbie Fowler plays one more game for Manchester City to help fund their Healy bid.
Healy is out of contract at the end of the season and would be available on a free transfer after rejecting Preston's offer of a three-year deal.
