Leeds United Football Club - Healy Frustration!

Healy Frustration!

Preston North End have rejected a fourth offer from Leeds United for their Northern Ireland international striker David Healy.
The offer, a package totalling up to £600,000, was turned down by North End chairman Derek Shaw late on Sunday evening even though the player is set to become a free agent after 31 January 2005.
It means Leeds United are now considering taking their search for a new forward elsewhere, leaving Healy – who has made no secret of his desire to join the Elland Road club – at Deepdale.
“We put what we considered to be a very attractive deal on the table, which was rejected even though Preston stand to lose David for nothing in three months time,” said Leeds United spokesman Bryan Morris.
“The player wants to come to Elland Road. However, considering our current circumstances, there’s not very much more we can do.
“Regrettably, it’s looking increasingly likely that we’ll have to look elsewhere to solve our striking problems.”
