Leeds United winger Jack Harrison has signed a new five-year contract with the club.

Harrison has put pen-to-paper on fresh terms that will see him remain at Leeds until the summer of 2028.

Leeds’ director of football Victor Orta said: “Jack is a crucial part of our squad and our plans going forwards and I’m really happy he has agreed to commit his long-term future to the club.

“He is one of the most professional players I have come across in my career, he has an unbelievable attitude and only wants to continue improving and I know we will see him at his peak over the duration of the next five years.”

Harrison signed for Leeds from Manchester City on a permanent deal in 2021, having previously had two loan spells with the club.

The 26-year-old has become a key member of Leeds’ first-team despite going close to sealing a transfer to Leicester City in the January transfer window.

Harrison made the trip to Leicester’s training ground, pre-empting the possibility that he could be sold. But Leeds eventually reached the decision to keep him and the prospect of him leaving did not materialise.

During his time at Leeds, Harrison has made 197 appearances in all competitions, scoring 33 goals.

This season, he has featured 31 times, scored five and assisted on nine occasions.
