Helder Costa could link up with Nuno Santo as his Leeds United exit looms, with the former Wolves head coach interested in taking the winger to AI-Ittihad.

Leeds have moved on from Costa, who helped them win promotion back into the Premier League in 2019/20.

The winger spent time with Valencia on loan last season and doesn’t feature in Jesse Marsch’s plans for the coming campaign, despite him taking a place on the bench for the final pre-season friendly against Cagliari.

As per a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post, Costa is attracting interest from Saudi outfit, Al-Ittihad.

They are now managed by former Wolves head coach, Nuno, who left Wolves at the conclusion of the 2020/21 campaign.

Nuno worked with Costa during his time at Molineux, with the winger playing his part in helping the club win promotion to the Premier League two years prior to Leeds.

The now 28-year-old made 109 appearances for Wolves, scoring 19 goals and registering a further 19 assists.

This looks like it could be a very presentable deal for everyone involved here.

Leeds could do with shifting Costa on and a move to Saudi Arabia will be very beneficial for the player in a financial sense.

Costa will also be linking up with a head coach he knows from his time at Wolves. Yes, he wasn’t exactly electric at Molineux under Nuno (his best season was the year prior to his arrival), yet he knows how Nuno works and, at that level, would deliver.

One question would be what kind of fee Leeds can land for Costa. You’d like to think it would be quite handsome given the profile of the club chasing his signature.
