LEEDS UNITED are closing in on a loan move for unsettled Southend United winger Ryan Hall - and could seal the deal today.
The Shrimpers star, 24, top-scorer at Roots Hall with 14 goals last term and with the best assists record in the whole four divisions in 2011-12, is desperate to move from the club, having seen a loan switch to Blackpool fell through last month.
Hall has started just two games for Southend this term and has been told by chairman Ron Martin he will not be welcome back at Roots Hall with player and club at loggerheads.
Peterborough United saw a £100,000 bid for Hall rejected on transfer deadline day, prompting rival interest from Blackpool - but the winger was unable to agree terms with the club.
Hall, who can play on the left or right, has not been training with any club since his move to the Seasiders fell through.
