The real reason why Leeds United have sold Luis Sinisterra for less than originally agreed option-to-buy — Leeds United News 9/2/24

Bournemouth have agreed a deal with Leeds United to sign
Luis Sinisterra on a permanent deal.
Sinisterra joined the Cherries on a season-long-loan deal on
deadline day in the summer and after a slow start at the club, has established
himself as a key player in the last couple of months.
Bournemouth had inserted an option-to-buy Sinisterra at the
end of his loan spell in the event that Leeds failed to win promotion back to
the Premier League.
However, amid reported interest from AC Milan, the two clubs
now have decided to come to the table on a fresh agreement for around £20
million, a lower figure than it would’ve been in the summer.
According to the Daily Echo, Leeds have done this in order
to secure guaranteed funds right now, as opposed to a deal that is a
potentially higher amount, but is dependant on add-ons etc. It also does not
affect Jaidon Anthony’s loan at Leeds in any way.
Leeds secure guaranteed Sinisterra funds
Though some supporters may view this figure as low for
someone of Sinisterra’s talent, it is actually good business ensuring they
receive guaranteed funds.
Profit and sustainability rules are extremely tight in the
Championship and this sort of cash flow will only be beneficial to the club,
particularly if they fail to win promotion this season.
It would have been nice to have a player of his quality
return to the club had Leeds got back to the Premier League, but ultimately
there is probably too much water under the bridge.
Leeds, and more specifically Angus Kinnear, were less than
impressed with the way he conducted himself behind-the-scenes in pushing for a
move after the club’s relegation.
Thankfully the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Dan James
have more than been able to step up to the plate since his exit back in the
summer, with 35 Championship goal contributions between them.
