Five-year contract ready for Luis Sinisterra Leeds United exit as 5% clause emerges — MOT Leeds News 9/2/24

Colombian football club Once Caldas will receive 5% of Luis
Sinisterra’s transfer fee ahead of his move from Leeds United to Bournemouth as
a solidarity payment, according to Pipe Sierra.
The Colombian journalist shared via his X account on 8
February that the £20million transfer deal will be confirmed after Sinisterra
signs a five-year deal.
That solidarity payment amounts to £1million and is a huge
fee for a club in Colombia, where Once Caldas sit 13th in their league, and
will be paid since Sinisterra came through their academy before moving to
Europe.
Sinisterra is set to complete a permanent transfer to
Bournemouth, having joined on loan in the summer transfer window and impressing
in his recent run of games at the Vitality Stadium.
A £20million fee in the deal would have been a boost to
Leeds given their Championship status, with the fee paid early rather than
waiting until the summer so that Leeds would be guaranteed the money, rather
than waiting to trigger the buy option in the summer.
Dutch outfit Feyenoord signed Sinisterra in 2018 for a
reported fee of £1.7million [Transfermarkt], so this solidarity payment will
see them almost double the original fee received for his sale.
The 5% payment from his transfer fee would also have been in
place when Leeds made the £24.7million [Sky Sports] deal to bring him to Elland
Road, so overall, Leeds will have been involved in around £2.3million worth of
payments to the Colombian club.
