NEIL REDFEARN has hinted that Aidy White may have a future at Leeds if he remains at the Elland Road helm.
White, stricken by injury this season, made his first appearance in 12 months as a second-half sub on Saturday, and is out of contract in the summer. Redfearn said: “Aidy was good. I wanted to try and get him on against Sheffield Wednesday and I had him warming up for an hour, bless him. He never got on.
“But he came on (on Saturday) and he showed what he’s capable of. He’s got pace, he goes past people and I want the opportunity to work with Aidy, work on his game. He gave us a different dimension.”
Redfearn added: “For me, I think he’s someone we can utilise. He’s got blistering pace and he goes past people. If we can work on his decision-making and show him how to go on in the final third, we can make him a really dangerous player.
“There was a time when Aidy White was sought after. A lot of clubs were after him.
“He’s one of ours and he’s come through our academy. He’s an ideal candidate to develop.”
