MIDFIELDER IS SIGNING NUMBER SIX
Leeds United have signed former Charlton Athletic midfielder Lloyd Sam.
The 25-year-old was out of contract at the end of last season and had attracted interest from a number of Championship clubs.
Lloyd, who was actually born in Leeds but only lived in the city for a matter of weeks, started his career at Charlton where he has made 134 appearances.
Lloyd has also had loan spells with Leyton Orient, Sheffield Wednesday, and Southend United.
Last season, he was a virtual ever present as Charlton reached the League One Play-Off semi-finals before tasting defeat to Swindon.
United manager Simon Grayson said: "Lloyd is another good addition to our squad.
"He has plenty of experience, he has played at Championship level, and he is hungry and keen to do well.
"We're delighted to get things finalised and welcome him aboard before we go out to Slovakia."
Lloyd is the club's sixth signing of the summer and joined his new team-mates for training for the first time on Friday.

NEILL - I'M DELIGHTED TO BE BACK
Defender Neill Collins admits he is delighted to return to Leeds United after completing the formalities of his transfer from Preston North End on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old made nine appearances for United last season as the club clinched promotion back to the Championship.
A number of npower Championship clubs were keen to take the defender, but once Leeds made a move, the Scot had no doubts about where he saw his future.
"It's great to come back after the success of last season," said Neill.
"It was a real high last season and now we're in a better league.
"Having already been here and knowing the club made it easy.
"It's the biggest club in the Championship and after last season we have moved a step in the right direction.
"When the opportunity came to come back I was delighted."
Neill is the fifth signing of the summer, but having spent time here on loan, he re-joins a club where he knows the majority of the squad.
He linked up with his team-mates at Strensall Barracks on Wednesday afternoon and will travel to Slovakia on the pre-season tour this weekend.
"It's not really like coming to a new club," he added.
"I know a lot of the lads here so it should be easy settling in.
"We go away next week and that will be an opportunity to get to know the new lads as well."

The central defender has joined from Preston North End for an undisclosed fee.
United have beaten off interest from a number of Championship clubs for the 26-year-old, and he has signed a three-year contract.
Neill is no stranger to Leeds fans, having made nine appearances as the club clinched promotion last season.
The former Sunderland and Wolves defender played the final nine games of the campaign, and manager Simon Grayson was delighted to complete his signing.
"We know all about Neill from last season and what he brings to the club," said the boss.
"Neill already knows most of the lads here, but we're pleased we've been able to complete the deal before we go to Slovakia on Saturday.
"Neill has plenty of experience at Championship level and he is another important addition to our squad."
