Joe Gelhardt admits he was left numb by the "crazy" Elland Road crowd in Leeds United's late 1-1 draw with Wolves.

The Whites earned a deserved point in LS11 on Saturday afternoon in Premier League action as Marcelo Bielsa's men scored deep into injury-time from the penalty spot.

Bruno Lage's visitors had earlier taken the lead through Hwang Hee-Chan in the first half against the run of play.

United, though, responded in the face of more adversity after the interval as star winger Raphinha left the field of play injured following a tackle by Romain Saiss.

Leeds pushed for an equaliser - penning the visitors back for the majority of the final 45 minutes - and it was substitute Gelhardt who produced the moment of magic in added time on his home debut.

The youngster danced into the box with a brilliant run beating two Wolves defenders before being taken out by opposition full-back Nelson Semedo.

Rodrigo then did the honours from 12-yards to send the Whites crowd wild to blow the roof off Elland Road.

"It was very good, obviously," Gelhardt smirked, reflecting post-match.

"To come on and make my home debut in the Premier League in front of the fans... the noise was crazy!

"I think we were unlucky not to come away with three points in the end. I sort of went numb when I heard the noise [of the crowd]. The tiredness goes away, you don't feel tired... you just feel ready.

"They're like the twelfth man out there and you can really tell. It's a good point on the board. As I said, I think we could've come away with three points, especially with the way we had them in the last 20 minutes.

"Obviously I'd love to play more games at Elland Road and in the Premier League in future."

Gelhardt's moment of brilliance was the standout passage of play though the 19-year-old nearly scored himself if not for the palms of Jose Sa.

"It was a great save. I thought if I hit it with power that it would have a good chance of going in," he added.

Asked about Rodrigo's late penalty, Gelhardt said: "I was fully confident in him, I knew he'd put it away. That's why I didn't really follow it because I thought he was going to bury it."

Leeds United board break silence after transfer window with statement on upcoming Elland Road development — YEP 2/9/24

By Joe Donnohue Leeds United have confirmed supporters' commemorative stones at Elland Road's Centenary Square will be replaced free of charge in a bid to improve their longevity. Beginning next month, Leeds supporters' personalised stones will be replaced with exact replicas, courtesy of a new company, to ensure of a 'much better quality' installation. The work is expected to take around two months to complete. An official club statement confirmed 'three larger stones dedicated to former managers Don Revie, Howard Wilkinson and Marcelo Bielsa' will also be installed, 'similar to those located in Bremner Square', while additional space for supporters to purchase new stones has also been factored into the project. “The club have taken on board recent feedback from supporters on the stones at Centenary Square, and we are really happy that we can now announce that all of the stones will be replaced," chief executive Angus Kinnear confirmed,...

Leeds United transfer state of play as Whites knock back low bid and assert wing pair stance — YEP 3/7/24

By Graham Smyth Leeds United are not actively looking to cash in on Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto and believe any further outgoing transfer business will be done on their terms. The Whites, who sold Archie Gray to Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday for £40m, expect that there will be continued interest in wing pair Summerville and Gnonto as the summer transfer window progresses. Summerville has been a target for Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion but their interest has not yet materialised into a bid. The Albion did, however, send a £30m proposal for Georginio Rutter, which Elland Road chiefs rejected. Rutter is not expected to try and force an exit this summer and appears settled at Leeds after a far more positive second season in English football.
