Leeds United Football Club - Blake Fears Confirmed
Nathan Blake is set to spend the next two months out of action after the results of his MRI scan confirmed he has ruptured his hamstring.
The striker suffered the injury early on in Saturday's FA Cup clash with Birmingham City and was stretchered off immediately with both the player and United's head physio Dave Hancock fearing the worst straight away.
Recovery from the torn hamstring is expected to take between two and three months, past the Leicester City forward's current loan spell at Elland Road and he will be back with the Foxes at the end of the month.
The injury compounds Leeds recent luck, having brought the Welsh international in to cover the absence of Brian Deane, who is about a month away from returning to fitness after suffering a serious shoulder injury.
Kevin Blackwell is looking to bring in a replacement for Blake, but a move may be hard to fund as United are still paying the 32-year-old's wages for the remainder of his loan spell.
Blackwell may have to work with what he has at the club and that means Julian Joachim is likely to get more of a chance in games, whilst also opening the door for Michael Ricketts to try and force his way back into contention.
