Leeds United Adidas 2026/27 away kit released as 'historic first' confirmed & club legend speaks out — YEP 4/6/26

Leeds United and Adidas have released their new away shirt for the 2026/27 Premier League season.

Leeds United have officially released their retro-inspired Adidas away shirt for the 2026/27 season.

The Whites are about to enter their seventh year with kit manufacturers Adidas and second consecutive campaign in the Premier League. Daniel Farke’s side finished 14th last season and look set for another exciting summer.

On Thursday morning, the club officially revealed the design for next season’s away shirt, reverting back to a traditional Leeds yellow with night navy and white detailing on the sleeve and neck. It will be accompanied by navy shorts and yellow socks.

And as was the case in 2024/25, the upcoming campaign’s offering will have a nod back to the glory days in the form of a much-loved retro Leeds crest that was present on all shirts between 1984 and 1998. The Yorkshire Rose badge is synonymous with Howard Wilkinson’s 1991/92 First Division title-winning side. A similar decision to use the 1970s smiley badge on the 2024/25 away shirt went down well, with huge sales.

The manufacturer logo has been given a retro look too, with Adidas’ more modern three-stripe design swapped out for a trefoil offering first released in 1972. The club join an elite group of European teams with the older crest in what they describe as a ‘historic first’ for the partnership.

Leeds have also confirmed that for the first time ever, supporters will be able to purchase a long sleeve version of the away shirt. This is a privilege reserved for Adidas’ highest-tier ‘elite’ group sponsorship which includes the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

Leeds revealed their new away kit with a film set against the Yorkshire Dales, commemorating the lengths fans have gone to follow their beloved Whites across the country. It features a host of current players is narrated by club legend Lucas Radebe.

"Leeds United supporters are special, their passion, loyalty and commitment to this football club is known around the world and it's something I've always been proud to be part of,” Radebe said. “It was a real privilege to be involved in this campaign and to help tell the story of what this club means to so many people.

“The film captures the connection between Leeds United, the city and Yorkshire, and celebrates the lengths our supporters will go to follow the club they love. I'm sure this kit will be a favourite amongst the fans, and it was incredibly special to play a part in bringing it to life.”

Leeds’ last yellow away shirt, revealed ahead of the 2024/25 Championship title-winning campaign, smashed sales records with over 15,000 sold in the opening 24 hours following its release. The shade of yellow and 1970s smiley badge became inextricably linked with promotion and the incredible open-top bus parade that followed.

Leeds will have an opportunity to display their 2026/27 away shirt next month. Daniel Farke’s squad head to the USA for a pre-season tour shortly after the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup.

The Whites face Wrexham in Tampa on July 25 before a meeting with Liverpool in New Jersey five days later. Leeds then go head-to-head with Sunderland in Chicago on August 2 before returning to West Yorkshire.

An Elland Road friendly with RB Leipzig is expected to go ahead on the weekend of August 8/9 before Leeds face Manchester United in Dublin on the following Wednesday. The 2026/27 Premier League season starts on the weekend of August 22/23.

The 2026/27 away kit is now available online via the Leeds United shop and Adidas. It will also be stocked in Leeds United retail stores and selected JD stores.
