Leeds United put their foot down amid rumours Jack Harrison could return from Everton — Leeds United News 31/1/25

Jack Harrison is certainly enduring a tough time of late.
He’s underperforming for Everton and there are rumours that he could be back at
Leeds United sooner than expected.
Jack Harrison joined Everton on loan from Leeds United for a
second successive season last summer, having proved to be a useful player for
the Toffees last time round.
He scored three and assisted three more in 29 Premier League
games for the Toffees. But this season has been a different story: Harrison
hasn’t recorded a single goal contribution in 18 top flight appearances for
Everton.
The 28-year-old has endured such a poor 2024/25 that even
Joey Barton has labelled Harrison as ‘dreadful’, prompting speculation about
where exactly his future lies.
And now as Daniel Farke waits for his first signing of 2025,
reports have emerged stating that Harrison could return to Leeds United for the
second half of this season.
Soon after it was claimed that the winger could return to
Elland Road, it was then revealed that Everton want to keep Harrison for the
remainder of the season. He’s played just once since David Moyes returned,
being an unused substitute in the last two games.
And despite Harrison’s lack of game time at Everton, Leeds
don’t want him back. TEAMtalk report that ‘Leeds have no plans to terminate the
loan’, adding: “As far as Leeds are concerned, Harrison made his decision to
join Everton perfectly clear, twice over, and having exercised that right, will
be expected to see out the season there.”
Harrison signed a five-year contract with Leeds United in
2023, meaning he’s contracted in West Yorkshire for three more years after the
end of this season.
Soon after returning to Goodison Park, Moyes spoke about
Harrison’s form this season, and what he thinks the player needs right now.
Moyes said: “I always liked Jack when he was at Leeds
United. I don’t think anybody would question his energy, his effort, or what he
does.
“I think [Harrison has] probably lost some confidence and
maybe a lack of belief. So we need to bring that back. That might take a little
bit longer.”
Leeds fans will agree that Harrison is a player who, on his
day, can give opposition defences a really tough time. But after a turgid
season with Everton, his confidence looks to be shattered.
