Tuesday afternoon saw the club announce a five-year deal with Italian sportswear giants Kappa, and executive director Adam Pearson believes it is a move which will put the club on a "very good commercial footing".
The new 2015/16 home kit will be unveiled at an exclusive Elland Road event for Season Ticket holders on Thursday July 9 before its official launch in the club Superstore the following Saturday (July 11).
Alongside Kappa UK & Ireland managing director Mark Ward, Pearson fronted a press conference at Elland Road to outline the details of the new partnership and how it will benefit the club.
"Kappa are a renowned brand with great history both here and abroad," he said. "They understand the UK market and they’re keen to expand back into this UK market.
"I think they’ve chosen a partner who can give them the volume of sales and have the potential to go back into the Premier League and go even further. I think it’s a good deal for both parties.
"It’s an extremely competitive deal for the club and by far the biggest in the Championship. It would sit comparably with a lot of Premier League clubs.
"For that, we thank Kappa and we know we’re going to have to work very hard in return to make sure it’s a good deal for both parties.
"It certainly puts us on a very good commercial footing.
"I think that five years for a kit deal is the right length of time for a kit deal in this era. It enables some stability in the club.
"To have Kappa in place for five years means we can really concentrate on bringing in other partnerships, knowing we’ve got a very good partnership already.
"I think when supporters see the shirt, they’ll really like it. It’s very traditional, it’s very white and with the Kappa branding as well, I think it looks a really good product."
Ward added: "We’re very pleased and honoured to be associated with the club.
"We’re really looking forward to the re-launch of the Kappa brand back in the UK this year. We want to support the club and the fans as we move forward.
"We came to the table quite late and we were very excited about having the opportunity to put forward our proposal from Kappa.
"When a club like Leeds United – with the ground, the history and the potential for next season – we were so excited and very privileged to use Leeds as our key club as we launch back into the UK."
