Milan ace Benedicic heads for entire season at Leeds

Yorkshire Post 1/8/14
ZAN Benedicic remains on course to complete his loan to Leeds United and arrive at Elland Road in time for the start of the new season.
The AC Milan midfielder is closing in an a season-long move to England, with a deal set to be finalised early next week.
Milan are willing to release Benedicic for the whole of the 2014-15 term and they and United have been discussing the option of including a clause in the deal which gives Leeds the right to sign the 18-year-old permanently next summer.
Benedicic – an attacking midfielder who was born in Slovenia and is part of Milan’s youth-team squad – is willing to come to the Championship and flew home early from Milan’s pre-season tour of the USA on Tuesday night to push the transfer to Leeds forward.
Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi was reluctant to lose Benedicic when United first enquired about him at the start of last month but Benedicic is far down the order of players at the San Siro and on the very fringes of Inzaghi’s plans.
His agent, Amir Ruznic, said: “Next week I hope to finish everything.”
Benedicic is one of two midfielders who are poised to join United, with Federico Viviani also waiting to put the finishing touches to his protracted loan move from Roma.
The terms of Viviani’s transfer were belatedly agreed on Monday after a difficult weekend in which United owner Massimo Cellino claimed to have abandoned the transfer of the player on the back of three days of unsuccessful talks.
Viviani’s camp, all of whom are back in Rome, expected to ratify the agreement before Tuesday’s friendly against Swindon Town but are understood to have been left without the documentation they need to formally complete his move.
Cellino is due to arrive back in England after two weeks abroad later today and his return to England should finally pull Viviani’s switch over the line.
Leeds have been awaiting their sixth summer signing since bringing in Swiss full-back Gaetano Berardi on a two-year deal from Sampdoria on July 18.
