He certainly knows how to win the hearts of Leeds fans, in Slovenia this evening Brian McDermott stunned the travelling supporters by giving them 50 euros to buy beers!
McDermott eagerly responded to chants of "Brian get the beers in" by shoving a €50 note through the fencing much to the delight of the travelling fans.
The Leeds boss told the YEP "Fifty Euros was all I came out with. I'd have given them more if I'd had it. I feel a bit bad actually."
However I doubt there will be any complaints from the estimated 300 fans who made the journey to watch Leeds beat a select Slovenia XI 3-1. In an age where professionals appear to become more distant and dispatched from reality and supporters, McDermott's gesture will further galvanise the adoration Leeds fans have for the former Reading boss.
I'm sure given his popularity, there will be plenty of fans out there more than happy to stand Brian for a few drinks until he makes it down the nearest bureau de change!
