Leeds United 0 Reading 0: We are getting better - Darko

DARKO Milanic welcomed a small step forward after a 0-0 draw with Reading at Elland Road earned the Slovenian his first point as Leeds United’s head coach.
Milanic praised the “dynamic” and “aggression” of his players but rued a lack of creativity as an end-to-end Championship match failed to yield a goal.
Reading came closest to forcing a win when Glenn Murray brought an alert save from Marco Silvestri during a second half which the visitors dominated but a game of few clear chances ended in stalemate.
Milanic, who was on the touchline at Elland Road for the first time after his appointment last week, was pleased to recover from a 2-0 defeat to Brentford on Saturday but admitted that a victory against Sheffield Wednesday this weekend was now “extremely important.”
The former Sturm Graz boss said: “I’m happier because I saw a better team tonight.
“I think that everybody saw the same as I did. We didn’t win but I saw a team with players who wanted to play good football, to play compact and play together.
“We were dynamic from the beginning and also showed aggression.
“But we made some mistakes, some easy mistakes with passing, and we didn’t play well enough to be extremely dangerous. We made too many bad last passes.”
United are 10 matches into a turbulent Championship season which saw a change of head coach at Elland Road before the end of the first month and has positioned the club in 12th position with almost a quarter of the term gone.
Milanic said: “This team is very young and it’s normal when a team is young that it’s not easy to keep stability in your play.
“They played very well in four games (before his appointment) but to have stability and to play well right through the Championship, they need experience.”
