Leeds United fans put campaign ad in cheeky location

Yorkshire Evening Post 18/9/12
Leeds United fans have scored a cheeky publicity coup in their campaign for a new beginning off the field at the football club.
The Leeds United Supporters Trust (LUST) has taken out a roadside advert just a few yards from one of the main entrances to the club’s Elland Road ground.
Fixed to a lamppost directly outside the doors to the ground’s redeveloped East Stand, the ad’s main slogan reads: “Time for change.”
Underneath is the statement: “Leeds United Supporters Trust believe our club should match the ambition of our fans.”
The display panel where the advert has been placed belongs to a private company, although the lamppost is owned by Leeds City Council.
LUST chairman Gary Cooper told the YEP a deal had been agreed with the firm to keep the ad on show for the next month, with an option to extend if desired.
Some United supporters have criticised the club’s current regime for investing money in facilities at Elland Road that could otherwise have been spent on the team.
