'Devastated' — Leeds 'will be kicking themselves' after heartbreaking Man City defeat — YEP 30/11/25

Michael Dawson has given his verdict following Leeds
United's heartbreaking defeat to Man City on Saturday.
Leeds United ‘will be kicking themselves’ for letting a
point slip away at Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.
That’s according to former England international Michael
Dawson, who believes the Whites invited disaster onto themselves after doing so
well to draw level.
Daniel Farke’s men found themselves 2-0 down within 25
minutes at the Etihad Stadium through goals from Phil Foden and Josko Gvardiol.
However, just four minutes after being introduced at
half-time, Dominic Calvert-Lewin pulled a goal back, while fellow striker Lukas
Nmecha scored the rebound from his missed penalty to equalise in the 68th
minute.
Leeds United ‘kicking themselves’ after ‘devastating’ Man
City defeat
Leeds looked to have done enough to take a priceless point
back down the M62, but a period of sustained pressure from City paid off when
Foden struck a superb winner for Pep Guardiola’s men in the first minute of
second-half stoppage time.
It was heartbreak for Leeds, who have now lost six of their
last seven Premier League matches to sit 18th, with just 11 points and three
wins on the board from 13 games. But according to Dawson, they only have
themselves to blame for an outcome they didn’t deserve.
"Leeds will be kicking themselves as they have sat back
and invited pressure,” Dawson told Sky Sports. “Foden puts it past Perri and
into the right-hand post.
"Leeds will be devastated, they do not deserve
this."
Farke may sorely regret his side giving up this point at the
death in Manchester.
That’s because his side must host high-flying Chelsea and a
Liverpool side who, despite struggling at present, are still defending
champions across their next two Premier League fixtures.
After that, the Whites travel to London to take on
Brentford, before hosting Crystal Palace at Elland Road to conclude their
pre-Christmas schedule.
Should Leeds fail to take sufficient points from those
fixtures, already-under-pressure Farke may well find himself paying with his
job.
