Leeds United: Diouf set for talks

El-Hadji Diouf’s future will be decided next week with the forward and Leeds United manager Brian McDermott planning to hold talks on Monday.
McDermott and Diouf are set to resolve his situation following a spell in which Diouf has missed numerous games and training sessions due to a spate of personal issues.
The 32-year-old made his last appearance for Leeds in October and despite returning to the bench during United’s 0-0 draw against Barnsley before Christmas, he has been estranged from their fixtures ever since.
Diouf’s contract expires at the end of the season and he could be allowed to leave United this month with several new signings expected.
McDermott said: “I’m going to sit down with him on Monday and we’ll talk about it.
“There’s nothing but respect between us. You can ask to Dioufy about that.”
McDermott also indicated that other departures were possible and the club have received loan bids for strikers Luke Varney and Dominic Poleon.
“There’s been a bit of interest in some of our players,” McDermott said. “We’ll see what happens.”
