Leeds sign winger Gboly Ariyibi

Brian McDermott has confirmed in his press conference today that Leeds United have signed former Southampton trainee Gboly Ariyibi until the end of the season. Ariyibi, who plays on the wing, has been training with the first team at Leeds and has impressed McDermott.
It bodes well for the player that he has impressed alongside first team players, and it could be a good signing for the club if he turns out to be a talent. Leeds have lacked a winger since the start of the season, and despite succeeding in recent weeks with an utterly winger-less formation in the 3-5-2, there has been severe doubts about any alternative plan should Leeds struggle in a given match. Ariyibi, assuming he is ready for first team action, would provide that alternative that Leeds require.
McDermott also revealed that El-Hadji Diouf is not currently available for selection, having not trained properly for a period of time, and he says the two will discuss Diouf’s future when the January transfer window opens.
