Redfearn - Assistant knows how to win promotion

Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn says he has left the appointment of his assistant manager in the hands of the club after telling them who he wants to bring in.
Redfearn is still without an assistant in the dugout two weeks into his tenure as the Leeds manager and the vastly experienced former player says the unnamed person he wants to bring in knows how to get out of the championship having won promotion previously.
Speaking to LUTV, Redfearn said, "It is ongoing. I have left it in the hands of the club but they know the person I want to bring in.
"I think he will be a real benefit to this football club. It is someone with experience of the division and he knows how to get promotion out of it."
Redfearn has been strongly linked with Huddersfield Town assistant manager Steve Thompson.
The pair started their careers together at Bolton Wanderers in 1982 and Thompson would fit the description named by Redfearn having been assistant manager to Ian Holloway at Blackpool when they won promotion to the Premier League in 2010.
Redfearn will be hoping to have his assistant in place before Leeds next game at Blackburn Rovers next Saturday.
