Leeds United have received approaches for Danny Pugh and Paul Connolly after ruling them surplus to requirements at Elland Road.
The Championship club are looking to move Pugh and Connolly on this month with neither player featuring in the plans of manager Neil Warnock.
Right-back Connolly has been on the transfer list at Elland Road since the end of last season and his only appearances this term came during a short loan at Portsmouth.
Pugh, meanwhile, has played six times for United since August but last appeared on the bench in mid November. He was transfer-listed by Leeds toward the end of the summer transfer window but failed to attract any firm interest. The 30-year-old is 12 months into the two-and-a-half year deal he signed upon joining Leeds from Stoke City in a £500,000 move but United are ready to sanction the departure of one of their higher earners.
Warnock said: “We’ve had one or two enquiries about Danny and he’s considering them. He’d like to stay in the Championship if he can.
“We’ve also got one or two enquiries for Connolly and one or two of the younger lads as well.”
Connolly is nearing the end of a three-year contract and has not been involved with United’s senior squad at any stage of this season.
The list of available players at Leeds is unlikely to stop at Pugh and Connolly, with American winger Robbie Rogers also on the fringes of their plans after a recent loan at Stevenage Borough.
Warnock, who allowed defender Patrick Kisnorbo to join Ipswich Town on a temporary basis last week, said: “If and when we sign players there might be others who’ll be available then but aren’t available at the moment.
