Faithful starting to believe in young Leeds United revolution - Redfearn

HEAD coach Neil Redfearn says the prospect of 30,000 fans at Elland Road this weekend is proof supporters are starting to believe in his young Leeds United revolution.
However, Redfearn has warned against automatically expecting another big win at home to in-form Nottingham Forest, stressing the club have benefited from learning some “humility.”
Redfearn’s Whites approach Saturday’s Championship encounter on the back of seven victories from their last ten games and the run has not gone unnoticed.
A gate of around 30,000 is expected at Elland Road, even though 13th-placed United effectively have only pride to play for.
The prospect of such a large home attendance has left United’s head coach beaming - but Redfearn is warning that Leeds must stay humble and grounded in order for progress to continue.
Asked about the prospect of a 30,000 gate at this stage of the season, Redfearn said: “It’s a tremendous thing for the lads and it just shows you the feeling for the club and how big it is.
“And I think from the football club’s point of view and from our point if view, I think it shows that people are starting to believe what we are doing.
“I think they see the young players coming through and I think we have been brave as a group to put them in and I think people can see where we are going with them.
“This is maybe reflected that there’s so many people that are going to be coming through the gate this weekend.”
Assessing United’s recent progress as a whole - and asked if promotion could finally be on the agenda next term - Redfearn continued: “This is a tough division and a real tough division to get out of and it has to respected.
“But it perhaps proves that with some momentum and some stability and some planning that you can get clubs and sides up this division and get them to a point where with a clear run in a season you can get challenging
“We want to be challenging next season and we have proved on our day now this season that we can beat the sides that are up there.
“We have beaten the majority of the top six at some point so we are capable but capable in one game and capable over the course of the season are two different things.
“We’ve got to learn to be consistent and to consistently get results but I think we are getting to grips with that now and this is what it’s going to take to get out of this division, but nobody has got a divine right.
“You’ve got to earn the right and perhaps this football club has gone through that transition and it’s perhaps learned some humility.
“It’s learning that it’s got to go and fight again and that it has got to go out and earn the right to get out of the division.
“I think because we are doing that we starting to pick results up.
“Nobody has got a God-given right to go out and win games - you’ve got to go and earn it.
“We’ve shown sides that we can beat them and it’s pleasing that we can.”
