Leeds United: Who is Novica Nikcevic, Milanic’s No 2?

Yorkshire Evening Post 24/9/14
Darko Milanic’s assistant at Elland Road, Novica Nikcevic, is a trusted and long-time ally of the new Leeds United boss.
Nikcevic – a Serbian striker whose career took him to several clubs in the former Yugoslavia and Lokeren in Belgium – worked with Milanic at ND Gorica in Slovenia.
The 41-year-old was the club’s sporting director and Milanic worked as Gorica’s head coach.
The two men linked up again after Milanic took charge of Sturm Graz at the start of last season and offered Nikcevic the chance to assist him in Austria.
Aside from day-to-day coaching, Nikcevic does scouting and opposition analysis for Milanic and generally keeps a low public profile as the boss’ second in command.
As a professional player, Nikcevic is best remember in Slovenia for his performances in the 1998-99 season.
He finished as the top flight’s leading scorer with 17 goals as his Gorica team came second behind champions Maribor. Lokeren took him toBelgium soon after.
