Boss lays down his criteria for incomings...
The playing staff may be enjoying a summer break from football but Brian McDermott is still hard at work.
The boss is in the process of trying to strengthen his squad for the next campaign and is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to player recruitment.
"I'm looking at players that are out of contract and I'm looking at players that would be available on compensation that have contracts that are up and are under 24," said McDermott.
"And I'm looking at players that we could possibly look to buy.
"They are the players that I have submitted to the board.
"You always have plans but you'll get a phone call regarding a certain player that becomes available and it's a do-able deal so you do that deal.
"So you have to be flexible in what you are trying to do. You give a list of players but it doesn't mean that you get that list of players and that doesn't mean to say that they are the number one choice.
"I want to sign players that are hungry, that's the criteria - players that are hungry and want to do well so I'll be looking at all types of players."
When it comes to the possibility of players leaving Elland Road the manager confirmed that the club are still receive offers.
"We haven't had any calls regarding any of our players at all," confirmed the manager. "There maybe players that do go out of the door, that's the nature of football.
"A number of players have already left the football club so we'll see, there could be players that leave but we don't know yet."
