Leeds United Dark Horses In Unfolding Saga Surrounding Ajax Target Robin Quaison

Inside Futbol 7/7/14
Leeds United may be about to enter the race to sign Swedish midfield starlet Robin Quaison, though the club's deal-maker Nicola Salerno looks likely to put friendship to the test if he does steer the Elland Road side in the 20-year-old's direction.
Quaison currently turns out for Swedish outfit AIK, but is edging towards a transfer to a more competitive league this summer.
Salerno, who is close to Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini and recently turned down the chance to work at the Serie A club to link up with Massimo Cellino at Leeds, gave a glowing report on Quaison to Zamparini.
That has helped make Quaison one of the club's primary transfer targets, however, Salerno could be about to steer Leeds in the direction of the midfielder to rival Palermo, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.
The race for Quaison contains more than just Palermo and Leeds though, with AIK having had contact with Ajax over their young midfielder.
And at present the Swedish side favour Quaison heading to link up with the Dutch champions.
Also looking at Quaison are another Italian side in the shape of Hellas Verona.
Quaison has already won four senior caps for Sweden despite being just 20 and is highly rated in his homeland, having become a fixture in the AIK side.
