Leeds United Football Club - Carson Move Close

England under-21 keeper Scott Carson looks to be moving closer to leaving United as Chelsea and Liverpool battle it out for his services.
The club had a second contract offer rejected by the 19-year-old and as such are prepared to allow him to leave if an acceptable offer is made from one of the Premiership clubs. His contract is set to expire in the summer.
Leeds have already rejected an offer from West Bromwich Albion for Scott and an initial offer from Liverpool. Negotiations with Liverpool and Chelsea are continuing today.
Contrary to some reports this morning, no deal has yet been agreed but it is expected a deal could be struck with either club before the end of the week.
United are disappointed that the highly rated young keeper believes his future lies elsewhere.
"We are trying to keep Scott at the club," said spokesman Bryan Morris.
"We have done everything in our power to keep him but if he wants to go we can't really stop him. We now have to get the best price for Leeds United."
"Chelsea and Liverpool have made contact and discussions are set to continue with them today."
Carson has not featured for the reserves in their last two outings whilst to protect him from any potential injury whilst transfer talks are ongoing.
Meanwhile, Michael Duberry is also attracting interest from other clubs and would be allowed to leave if a deal can be struck.
The defenders wages have largely prevented the 29-year-old from making a move already, having had a switch to Wolves aborted in the summer, but interest still remains and Stoke, where he spent nearly three months on loan, are keen to sign him permanently.
