Blackwell Gets His Man
Leeds United has won the race to sign West Bromwich Albion's highly-rated and experienced midfielder Sean Gregan.

Gregan, 30, joins the club for a fee potentially rising to £1million dependent on the Club's success. He has been appointed on a three-year contract following yesterday's medical (15/09/04) and will be officially unveiled as a Leeds player at a press conference at Thorp Arch today at 2pm.

Born in Guisborough, Gregan began his career with Darlington before joining Preston North End for £350,000 in 1996. Having made a name for himself at Deepdale, he went on to join West Brom for £1.75 million in August 2002, and was instrumental in taking them into the Premier League last season.

"Sean is a tremendous player and will be a great asset to our squad in terms of leadership, personality and talent; we're delighted he's joined us." said Leeds United manager Kevin Blackwell.

Leeds United board break silence after transfer window with statement on upcoming Elland Road development — YEP 2/9/24

By Joe Donnohue Leeds United have confirmed supporters' commemorative stones at Elland Road's Centenary Square will be replaced free of charge in a bid to improve their longevity. Beginning next month, Leeds supporters' personalised stones will be replaced with exact replicas, courtesy of a new company, to ensure of a 'much better quality' installation. The work is expected to take around two months to complete. An official club statement confirmed 'three larger stones dedicated to former managers Don Revie, Howard Wilkinson and Marcelo Bielsa' will also be installed, 'similar to those located in Bremner Square', while additional space for supporters to purchase new stones has also been factored into the project. “The club have taken on board recent feedback from supporters on the stones at Centenary Square, and we are really happy that we can now announce that all of the stones will be replaced," chief executive Angus Kinnear confirmed,...

While the first team is preparing for the next friendly against Villarreal, the U21s side, with a host of first team stars, thrashed Norweigian side Lyn 1896 10-2 in a pre-season friendly this afternoon. There were some surprising names on the scoresheet – Patrick Bamford scored, Sam Greenwood netted a brace and Joe Gelhardt scored four goals in the game. This is the second friendly the trio have featured in; they played in the friendly against Hartlepool last weekend.
