Leeds United Football Club - Season Ticket Sales Soaring

Leeds United are well on their way to exceeding all expectations for season ticket sales after reaching the 17,000 mark.
And interest in the club's 'United for 20 Years' season ticket scheme is still growing after one supporter arrived at Elland Road today with a cheque for £37,500 to buy ten of them for himself and an unofficial supporters group as a gesture of their commitment to the club.
The board had anticipated a drop of around 8,000 season ticket holders following last season's relegation from the Premiership, but that figure has already been bettered with just under a month to go before the start of the season.
Interest generally picks up and the number of season ticket holders is on course to be in excess of 19,000. The club have frozen season ticket prices to encourage sales.
David Thomson, United's Head of Ticketing & Retail, said the now tremendous support the fans gave the team last season was once again being shown by the uptake in season tickets.
"The figures are very encouraging for us and I am sure it will give Kevin Blackwell and his players a lot of encouragement knowing that the fans are very much behind them.
"Twenty year season tickets are still available and today one supporter bought ten for his group. This shows the interest in the 20 year season tickets is still strong and it represents fantastic value.
"We see this as a show of faith from our supporters."
