Leeds United and Everton have been fined by the FA after a
confrontation between both sets of players during their Premier League match on
February 18.
Several players from both sides confronted each other in a
41st-minute scuffle that took some time to diffuse.
The confrontation began after a hard challenge from Leeds’
Tyler Adams on Everton winger Dwight McNeil.
Tempers immediately flared, with Adams and McNeil
subsequently booked after the incident. Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure and Leeds’
Weston McKennie were also cautioned.
The FA released a statement on Friday which read: “Everton
and Leeds United have been fined £55,00 and £ 35,000 respectively following a
mass confrontation between their players in the 42nd minute of their Premier League
on February 18.
“Both clubs admitted that they failed to ensure that their
players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion, and also admitted that they
failed to ensure that their players did not behave in a way which is improper
and provocative.”
