Brian McDermott - We are a joke on and off the pitch

Leeds United boss Brian McDermott refused to resign after another defeat and described what is going on both on and off the pitch as a joke.
Leeds lost at Elland Road for the second time in four days as Charlton Athletic beat them 1-0 on Tuesday night.
The defeat to Charlton makes it six defeats in Leeds last seven games as a season that promised so much around Christmas now as them looking nervously over their shoulder at the relegation zone.
The league form has coincided with the long drawn out takeover of the club and McDermott says he has never experienced anything like what is going on at Leeds before during his long career in football as both a player and a manager.
Speaking to the BBC, McDermott said, 'I've been in football 30-odd years and I've never experienced anything like this.
'Both on and off the pitch, it's just a joke when I think about it.
'Someone's just said to me that people are saying I should resign.
'Well actually, if people know what's gone on here and what I've had to go through, then to make that suggestion ... They won't see me resigning, no way, absolutely no way.'
The takeover saga will hopefully come to an end this week after an independent QC heard prospective owner Massimo Cellino`s appeal on Monday.
The QC asked for more time to consider his verdict on the appeal, after the Football League refused Cellino permission last week to buy a controlling 75 per cent stake in the club after he had been found guilty of tax evasion in an Italian court.
The decision by the QC could be pivotal to Leeds season with the club amassing huge debts under current owners GFH Capital. The club are losing around £1 million per month and they would owe Cellino in the region of £5 million if the deal fails to go through.
Last week the players deferred a percentage of their wages, as current owners GFH Capital and Cellino argued over who should pay the players wages.
On the pitch, Leeds form since the New Year was summed up in injury time when leading goalscorer Ross McCormack saw his penalty saved to deny Leeds a point after Reza Ghoochannejhad had given Charlton a second half lead.
